Roger Finn began his broadcasting career in Hong Kong, with Radio Television Hong Kong. He specialised in environmental documentaries.

He joined the BBC in 1985 as a reporter for John Craven’s Newsround. He eventually took over from John Craven as the programme's main presenter. While there, Roger also travelled the world making documentaries for children. 

For several years he was a newsreader with BBC World.

He then joined BBC South, where he stayed for 25 years. During that time he was a reporter, environment correspondent, presenter and documentary maker.

Recently he has been making voice recordings for a theatre company.
